Let’s Make Our Differences a Blessing Made by IKJA e.V.
The project is a youth exchange whose topic is “let’s make our difference s a blessing”. It tackles a set of issues most importantly the question of immigration which has recently become a problem in some European countries in the last decades. Then, it will open the horizons to talk about differences between immigrants and the host countries in terms of culture (way of thinking, traditions, religion, cooking habits …etc). The question of immigrants and citizens of any host country is in fact a choice by us to talk about different worlds in one country. The thing is that we want to let the participants see that it is not only enough to talk theoretically about tolerance, coexistence, but it is extremely important to live these things and live with while behaving with other people who are different from you in your country before going abroad. To make these ideas real ones, during the project we will give the participants space where they will talk about each one’s country’s experience with the immigrants, is there something like an intercultural dialogue between them and the immigrants of their countries? So, the main focus will be the intercultural dialogue as a solution to reach things like tolerance, acceptance, peace…etc. The project activities will be turning around these issues through practical tasks and good practices like role plays, films’ discussion, dancing, singing , intercultural nights, theatrical episodes, workshops on the topic, workshops on partnership building for future projects dealing with other themes having to do with immigration, tolerance, intercultural dialogue…etc The aim of the project is always to reinforce the youth awareness about the importance of the intercultural dialogue being a solution of conflicts between people in the world.
